Best Job Management App for Tradies in Australia (2026 Prices)

By Luc Dossis, founder of Dossis Digital, a tradie marketing agency in Bacchus Marsh

For most small Australian trade businesses, the shortlist is ServiceM8, Tradify and Fergus. ServiceM8 charges by how many jobs you do, not how many people you have, so it’s usually cheapest for a crew, or for a sole trader doing up to about 50 jobs a month. Tradify suits a steady team that wants a set price per person, and Fergus says it mostly serves crews of 1 to 20. Ascora and Simpro pitch themselves at bigger crews and more complex work, and AroFlo has a 3-user minimum.

Updated November 2026. Prices checked on each company’s own pricing page on 5 November 2026.

Key Takeaways
  • ServiceM8 is the only one of the six with a free plan: 1 user and 30 jobs a month. Paid plans run from $29 to $349 a month including GST, with unlimited users.
  • Tradify is $48 to $62 per user a month, plus GST. Fergus starts from $53 a month and Ascora from $45 per user a month.
  • AroFlo is $80 per user a month with a minimum of 3 users. Simpro doesn’t publish prices and charges a setup fee.
  • Watch the GST. ServiceM8’s prices include it, Tradify’s don’t, and the others don’t say.
  • We’re signing up to ServiceM8’s partner program, so we have a side. The prices below are straight from each company.

All six say they connect to Xero. Tradify, Fergus, Ascora, AroFlo and Simpro also list MYOB. ServiceM8’s pricing page lists MYOB in one place and leaves it out in another, so check with them if you use MYOB.

What would it cost my business?

Because they charge in different ways, the cheapest app depends on your size. Two rough examples, using the published prices above:

  • A sole trader doing about 25 jobs a month: ServiceM8’s free plan covers it at $0. Tradify Lite is $48 a month plus GST.
  • A crew of 3 doing about 60 jobs a month: ServiceM8’s $79 plan covers up to 150 jobs, GST included. Tradify Lite is 3 users at $48, so $144 a month plus GST. Ascora Essentials is 3 users at $45, so $135 a month. AroFlo is 3 users at $80, so $240 a month.

Ascora and AroFlo don’t say whether their prices include GST, so ask before you compare. Fergus doesn’t say whether its price is per user or per business, so get a quote for your crew size.

Which job management app suits which tradie?

  • A small crew, or a sole trader doing up to about 50 jobs a month: ServiceM8. Start on the free plan and only pay once you’re doing more than 30 jobs a month. Because it charges by jobs, adding an apprentice doesn’t add a user fee. A sole trader doing more than 50 jobs a month will usually pay less on Tradify Lite.
  • A small team that wants simple, predictable per-person pricing: Tradify. You know exactly what each new starter costs.
  • A crew of up to about 20: Fergus. It says most of its customers are crews of 1 to 20. Get a quote for your crew size, because the page doesn’t say if the price is per user.
  • Growing businesses with bigger or multi-stage jobs: Ascora or AroFlo.
  • Larger commercial contractors: Simpro, if you’re ready for a setup project and a quote.

What should I check before I pick one?

  • Does it work with your accounting software? Check Xero or MYOB on the company’s own site, not a review site.
  • How does the price change as you grow? Work out the cost at your size now and at the size you want to be in two years.
  • Is GST included? It makes a 10% difference.
  • Can your team use it on site? Use the free trial on real jobs for two weeks, not just in the office.
  • Can you get your data out if you leave? Ask how you’d export customers, jobs and invoices.

Does a job management app help you win more work?

It helps you keep the work you’ve already won. It can help quotes go out faster and invoices get paid sooner. It doesn’t bring in new customers on its own. That comes from being easy to find on Google and answering fast when someone rings. If missed calls are your problem, see what to do about missed calls on the tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the cheapest job management app for tradies in Australia?

ServiceM8 has a free plan for 1 user and up to 30 jobs a month. Of the paid options, ServiceM8 charges by jobs rather than users, so it’s usually cheapest for small crews. Tradify starts at $48 per user a month plus GST.

Is ServiceM8 or Tradify better for a small trade business?

ServiceM8 is usually cheaper if you have several people and lots of small jobs, because it charges by jobs and paid plans include unlimited users. Tradify is simpler to budget if you have a small, steady team, because you pay a set amount per person. Both offer a 14-day free trial, so try each on real jobs.

Do job management apps work with Xero and MYOB?

All six apps here say they connect to Xero. Tradify, Fergus, Ascora, AroFlo and Simpro also list MYOB. ServiceM8’s pricing page isn’t consistent about MYOB, so check with them first.
