How Much Does a Tradie Website Cost in Australia? (2026 Prices)

· 4 min read

A tradie website in Australia costs anywhere from about $400 to $6,700 as a one-off build, or about $19 to $250 a month on a plan, going by the published prices of six businesses that sell websites to Australian tradies. Some quote GST on top and some don’t. Building it yourself on Wix or Squarespace runs about $19 to $55 a month. On top of that you’ll pay for a domain name, and usually hosting.

Updated November 2026. Prices checked on each provider’s own website on 5 November 2026.

Key Takeaways
  • Published one-off prices for tradie websites start from about $400 for a single page and reach about $6,700 for a bigger site with SEO work.
  • Monthly plans we found run from $19 a month as an add-on to job software, up to $250 a month on a 12-month minimum term.
  • A .com.au domain costs about $10 for the first year and about $23 a year after that. You need an ABN.
  • Check what’s left out. Hosting, the domain, copywriting and ongoing SEO are often extra.
  • Whoever builds it, the domain should be registered in your name.

What does a tradie website need?

  • A page for each main service, like “hot water repairs” or “switchboard upgrades”.
  • The suburbs or areas you work in.
  • Real photos of your jobs, and your Google reviews.
  • Your licence number where your trade requires one.
  • A phone number at the top of every page that dials in one tap.
  • A short quote form that sends the enquiry to your phone.

In our experience, a small site with these things beats a big site without them. If you’ve already got a site that gets visits but no calls, start with why your website isn’t getting you jobs before paying for a new one.

What are the ongoing costs?

  • Domain name: a .com.au is about $10 for the first year at one big registrar, then about $23 a year. First-year prices are often a promotion, so check the renewal price.
  • Hosting: often extra on one-off builds. One provider we checked charges $30 a month.
  • Updates and care: one tradie package moves to $99 a month after the first year.
  • SEO: a website on its own usually won’t rank across all your suburbs. See what SEO costs for tradies.

Can I get a .com.au domain as a sole trader?

Yes, if you have an ABN. Under the auDA licensing rules, you need an Australian presence, such as an ABN or being an Australian citizen or permanent resident. For a .com.au you also need to be a commercial entity, and a person with an ABN counts. The name has to match your business name, your own name, or a service you provide.

One-off build or monthly plan?

A one-off build is cheaper over a few years if you’re happy to handle hosting, updates and SEO yourself or pay for them separately. A monthly plan spreads the cost and usually covers hosting and updates, but it costs more over time. Before you sign either, ask:

  • Who owns the website if I stop paying?
  • Is the domain registered in my name?
  • Is there a minimum term?
  • Is GST included?
  • Who writes the words on each page?

Here’s how we do it, so you can compare. Our Spark plan is $100 a week plus GST, with no build fee and no lock-in. It includes a website built and hosted for you, your Google Business Profile looked after, and review requests after every job. Because we build the site without charging up front, it stays ours until you’ve made 26 weekly payments, then it’s yours. Full details are on our pricing page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much should a tradie pay for a website in Australia?

Published prices for a tradie website package mostly sit around $1,000 to $3,500 plus GST as a one-off, with hosting and the domain extra. Simpler one-page sites start from about $400, and monthly plans run from about $19 to $250 a month.

Is Wix or Squarespace good enough for a tradie?

It can be if you have the time to build it and write it well. Wix and Squarespace cost about $19 to $55 a month on a yearly plan and include a free domain for the first year. The work is in adding a page for each service and area, real photos, and a tap-to-call number.

Do I need a website if I have a Facebook page?

If you want work from people who don’t already know you, usually yes. We cover it in do tradies need a website or is Facebook enough.
